Not a fan of doing this initially. I tend to find the concept of self portraits to be narcissistic. I guess this is dysphoria speaking, I don't actually think that's a reasonable conclusion, it's just my gut reaction to the idea of sitting down for hours depicting myself and having to notice the endless list of things that bother me.
It turns out it can be a possitive experience. I'm not having a great time, but I'm not exactly breaking down crying while looking at the reference. In fact, in a very validating misshap, in the first few miserable hours of this process I made the model TOO masculine...meanwhile I was afraid I might underdo it, lol.
